Quinn Hughes is an American professional hockey player. His mother, Ellen Weinberg-Hughes, has played ice hockey, lacrosse, and soccer, and competed internationally for the U.S. women’s national hockey team. His father, Jim Hughes, is a hockey player and team captain. His brother is hockey player Jack Hughes.
Quinn’s maternal grandfather was Warren Abraham Weinberg (the son of Nathan Weinberg and Pauline Stein). Warren was born in Memphis, Tennessee. Nathan was born in Tennessee, the son of Jewish emigrants, Adolph Weinberg, from Russia, and Mollie/Molly Groskind, from Poland/Russia. Pauline was born in Indiana, the daughter of Abraham Stein and Freda/Frieda, who were Austrian Jewish immigrants.
