Thomas Newman is an American composer. He is known for his many film scores.
Thomas is the son of Martha Louise (Montgomery), from Mississippi, and Alfred Newman, from Connecticut. His father was a prominent composer, in films. His brother, David Newman, sister, Maria Newman, uncles, Lionel Newman and Emil Newman, cousin, Randy Newman, and first cousin, once removed, Joey Newman, are/were all prominent composers and musicians, many of them working in film.
Thomas is married to Ann Marie, with whom he has three children.
