Peter is the son of Cynthia Ann (Slovis) and Frederick Peter (“Fred) Cincotti, an attorney. Fred was of Italian ancestry. Cynthia is Jewish, the descendant of immigrants from Eastern Europe.
Peter’s paternal grandparents were Peter Cincotti (the son of Federico Cincotti and Gelsomina Sorgi) and Julia Repetti (the daughter of Luigi Repetti and Virginia Attarelli). Federico was born in Cervinara, Province of Avellino, Campania, Italy, to Felice Cincotti and Carlotta Borli. Julia’s parents were from Ferriere, Province of Piacenza, Emilia-Romagna, Italy.
