Marty Feldman was a British actor, comedian, and writer. His roles included the films The Bed Sitting Room, Every Home Should Have One, which he co-wrote; The Magnificent Seven Deadly Sins, Young Frankenstein, The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes’ Smarter Brother, Sex with a Smile, Silent Movie, The Last Remake of Beau Geste, In God We Tru$t (1980), the latter two of which he also directed and co-wrote; Slapstick of Another Kind, and Yellowbeard. He co-created and wrote for radio show Round the Horne, co-created, wrote for, and starred on the show At Last the 1948 Show, wrote for and starred on The Marty Feldman Comedy Machine, and also appeared on The Sandy Duncan Show.

He was the son of Cecilia “Cissy” and Myer/Moss Feldman, a gown manufacturer. His family was Jewish. His father was born in London. His mother was from Kiev, now Ukraine. Marty had Graves’ ophthalmopathy, which caused his eyes to protrude and become misaligned. He was evacuated to the countryside during WWII. He was married to Lauretta Sullivan, until his death, with whom he had two children.

Marty’s paternal grandfather was named Barnett Feldman/Bondor. Barnett was born in Kiev.

Marty’s paternal grandmother was named Rose/Rosey” Katinsky/Bernstein. Rose was born in either the Russian Empire, or London.

Marty’s maternal grandfather’s surname was Crook.
