Jetta Goudal was a Dutch-American actress. Her roles included the films The Bright Shawl, The Green Goddess (1923), Open All Night (1924), Salome of the Tenements, The Spaniard (1925), The Coming of Amos, The Road to Yesterday, Three Faces East, Paris at Midnight, Her Man o’ War, Fighting Love, White Gold, The Forbidden Woman (1927), The Cardboard Lover, Lady of the Pavements, and Business and Pleasure.
Jetta was born in Amsterdam, to a Jewish family, the daughter of Geertruida (Warradijn) and Wolf Mozes Goudeket, a wealthy diamond cutter. She traveled to New York City, New York, U.S. in 1918, settling there. She took on the name Goudal in 1921, and said herself to be the Versailles-born daughter of Maurice Guillaume Goudal, a lawyer. Most of her Dutch family were killed in the Holocaust.
She was married to Harold Grieve, an American motion picture art director and interior designer, and founding member of AMPAS; until her death.
