David Grisman is an American mandolinist, bluegrass musician, and record producer. He founded the Acoustic Disc record label. He created a genre he has called “Dawg music,” combining bluegrass, folk, and jazz. In 2023, he was inducted into the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame. He is also known as “Dawg.”
David was raised in Conservative Judaism. He has three children.
