José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero is a Spanish politician. He served as Prime Minister of Spain from 16 April, 2004 to 21 December, 2011. He is the son of Juan Rodríguez y García-Lozano and María de la Purificación Zapatero y Valero. He is married to singer Sonsoles Espinosa Díaz.
José has stated that his family is of Jewish descent, probably from a family of Marranos.
