Michael’s paternal grandparents were Oser Skishe Bolotin (the son of Gershon Bolotin) and Sophie F. Balwiw (the daughter of Pesach Balwiw). Oser and Sophie were Russian Jewish immigrants.
Michael’s maternal grandparents were Isadore/Isidore Gubin (the son of Abraham Gubin) and Rose Abramovitz (the daughter of Israel Abramovitz and Mollie/Molly/Molley). Isadore was a Russian Jewish immigrant. Rose was born in England, to Russian Jewish parents.
