Moshe Katsav is an Iranian-born Israeli politician. He served as the 8th President of Israel, from 1 August, 2000 to 1 July, 2007.
He is the son of Gohar and Shmuel Katsav. The family moved to Israel in 1951.
President Katsav is married to Gila Paradni, with whom he has five children.
